Chapter 9

Sosa

Ricio stayed at my house talking about everything that Beast and my Pops told him. Reese muthafuckin’ Williams was a genius. Only a man that wanted to protect his business and his family would have some shit in place before he died. When Ricio told me about the storage unit and all the drugs, I knew our days of working for Big Jim were over. We had enough product to throw around the city to make it look like it was snowing in July.

We made plans to go check out the unit tomorrow, along with going to the bank to see what was inside the deposit box. Ricio talked to Max, I hoped he listened and went to a hotel. If they came for anyone, it would be him because he was the weakest out of the three of us.

“I’m calling up our backup. I told you, we can’t go alone.”

“I’ll send a mass text for them to get here now. I already know who you gon’ hit up.” I said pulling out my phone.

Butta, Psycho, AK, Face, Felon, Fats: Aye fam, drop what ya doing and get to my crib now!

I sent the text and before I could place my phone back on my hip, it started going off back to back. Each text responded with the same message, “say less.” That’s one thing I could say about those niggas, there was no questions asked, they just reacted. They were our brothers from other mothers and it’s been that way since we were in grade school.

“Everybody should be here within thirty minutes, all of them responded.” I said going to my closet and pushing the button to open the hidden door.

“Aight, bet. I’ll explain what’s going on when we head out. We are taking the bulletproof Navigator, just in case things go awry.” Ricio said. In the next breath, he started talking again and I was confused. “I wanted to let you know, me and Sosa is about to go pay Floyd a visit. I’m gon’ give him this money and then we’re done with his ass.”

“Who the hell are you talking to?” I asked walking out of the closet.

“I’m talking to Beast,” he whispered.

I nodded my head and went back to the closet and chose a couple of guns for Ricio to choose from. Laying the tools on the counter, the doorbell sounded and I headed to the door. I looked through the peephole and saw all my A1’s standing on the other side. I quickly opened the door, and stepped to the side to let them in.

“What’s up, Sosa? Who we fuckin’ up?” Psycho’s voiced boomed through the foyer.

“Ricio found out some shit about my father’s murder. Big Jim did it.”

“Wait hold the fuck up! His ass been running around like he’s been helping y’all and he’s the one that knocked off Reese! Big Jim was his nigga, man! Why would he do that shit?” Butta chimed in.

“The nigga was jealous and wanted to be the muthafuckin’ man!” Ricio said walking into the room.
